About

My name is Sarah Carroll. I am currently a 2nd year student at Liverpool John Moores University, studying Drama and English.

The purpose of this blog is to make light of ‘Prison Voices’ from the 18th/19th Century and their importance in today’s literature. I aim to explore a wide variety of crime and punishment issues and different perspectives on these. I will consider the view of the criminals and the society that they live in. To do this I will be exploring novels written by infamous 18th and 19th Century and also contemporary writers, such as Charles Dickens, Daniel Defoe and Kate Grenville.

Any comments and feedback are highly appreciated and will be taken on board!
